Hello and thank you for your interest in Pretty Pedals Flower Preservation.  Your desire for floral preservation is a personal and somewhat intimate one. I thought the best way for you to feel comfortable about your decision was to get to know me and Pretty Pedals, better. My name is Trudy and I’m the sole owner and proprietor of Pretty Pedals Floral Preservation. All my life I’ve been a gardener at heart. I love all things nature related. Throughout my entire life, on my days off you’d find me planting, working in my ponds, visiting the garden nurseries and cleaning out the birdhouses for the new season’s occupants. Fourteen years ago a florist friend asked me to help her in the floral preservation department of her shop on my days off. She’s a freind and she needed help so I agreed. After all, what could be better than surrounding myself with the natural beauty I thrived for. It was there that I began to learn about floral preservation. It was also during this time I found that I have a natural flair for floral design as well. My one day a week turned into three. I was hooked. I eventually resigned from my other job to pursue this full time. Eventually I moved on to other florists to hone my craft and become familiar with the different design techniques and styles. I started Pretty Pedals a few years ago. I love floral design and still freelance for several florist boutiques. The owners are all friends I’ve made over the years. Independently, through Pretty Pedals, I also design and create live flower work for weddings and funerals. Honestly though, I feel my true calling was answered with floral preservation. Taking the beautiful memento of your special occasion, disassembling it and patiently putting it back together just as beautifully (sometimes more so, lol) than when you dropped it off is my niche. The end result of a stunning arrangement in an oval frame or display instills such pride each and every time. There are few people locally in this indstry and even fewer that get it right. It’s definitely a specialty, one that my many years in the floral business and days in the nursery have prepared me for.
